Katie is a speech pathologist and consultant in inclusive learning technologies and AAC who has been working with children and adults with complex communication needs for the past 13 years. Katie has worked in various clinical and project roles, most recently as coordinator of the Non-electronic Communication Aid Scheme in Victoria.
Katie is a trained Key Word Sign (formerly Makaton) presenter, certified Texthelp Trainer and has recently been made a member of the Apple Consultants Network. Katie is also an official Proloquo2go and Proloquo4Text trainer www.assistiveware.com/katie-lyon-0 and expert TBoxApps Trainer for Therapy Box. Katie enjoys building the capacity of parents, therapists and educators to implement AAC and technology through practical workshops and training.
Katie has been part of the Professional and Consultancy Services Team at Spectronics www.spectronics.com.au
Former AGOSCI State Representative for Victoria (2009-2012); Former ISAAC Australia Secretary (2004-2006).
