Outline of today’s session

8.00am Registration Desk Open
Tea/Coffee on arrival and a chance to network with like-minded delegates
9.00am to 9.20am Introduction
Overview of the workshop content and resources and a quick review of the iPad’s Settings and Accessibility Options relevant to the workshop content.
9.20am to 10.30am Communication: Exploring apps to support development of communication skills
Including investigation of the key features related to communication (AAC) apps.
10.30am Morning Tea
11.00am to 12.30pm Social Skills: Exploring apps to create tools to develop necessary social skills
Practical strategies for developing appropriate and effective social skills for students with autism.
12.30pm Lunch
1.30pm to 3.00pm Positive Behaviour Support: Exploring apps that will support positive behaviours in the classroom and/or home
Using strategies grounded in functional behaviour analysis and positive behaviour support, you will have the opportunity to create visual tools, such as schedules and rewards.
3.00pm Afternoon Tea
3.30pm to 4.30pm Practical Planning and Exploring Options: For keeping up-to-date after today’s workshop!
This session offers a chance to bring together everything we have learned throughout the day and to work collaboratively as a group to find practical solutions using the iPad to support students with autism.

A small additional cost per participant will be incurred for purchase of apps that we recommend that you pre-install on your iPad to ensure maximum
participation in the hands-on activities throughout the workshop day. Your presenters request that you purchase and install the following apps prior to the
workshop day.


The following FREE apps are also highly recommended and given limited wireless access for bulk downloads at the venue it is also requested that you
download and install these prior to arriving at the workshop.
