Notice of Closure of the Spectronics New Zealand Auckland office effective from close of business 27th June 2013

Auckland city sky light at night

It is very sad to have to announce that, after five years of service to New Zealand out of our Auckland office, it will be closing as of close of business on Thursday 27th June 2013. This has come about because of falling "assistive technology" sales across New Zealand. A trend, in fact, happening worldwide. As a result, we simply can't afford to keep a dedicated Spectronics New Zealand office open for you, as much as we would very much like to be able to do so.

I wish to personally thank Amanda Gerin, who has managed our Auckland office for the past five years. She has endeared herself to many customers and to the wider Spectronics team with her unwavering dedication and commitment to her role. Losing Amanda from the Spectronics "family" is also cause for sadness at this announcement.

I am heartened, however, to know that you will not be disadvantaged if you still wish to purchase the technologies available from Spectronics. Thanks to partnerships with our resellers in New Zealand, you will have ongoing support for being able to purchase locally, in New Zealand dollars.  We will be working closely with these companies to ensure a smooth transition for the continuation of support for educational software and special needs technologies.

The Spectronics team will of course continue to offer free-of-charge technical support for all customers in New Zealand who have purchased technologies from us over our years based in Auckland and, prior to that time, in Hamilton.

Outstanding accounts can still be paid in New Zealand dollars by cheque posted to our post box.

PO Box 201186
Auckland Airport

Or by Direct Deposit into our Spectronics New Zealand Bank Account.

Branch: 262 Queen Street, Auckland
Bank and Branch Code: 020 290
Account Number: 0198 237 00

Please email Spectronics in Australia if there are any issues that remain unresolved, for whatever reason. We will do all we can to ensure a smooth transition for you.

Thank you for your support. It is very much appreciated. I do hope that you will keep in touch with the Spectronics Consultancy Team. Perhaps by joining them at our upcoming workshops in Auckland In November this year, and in Wellington early next year. Registration will be opening soon for the following sessions at the Waipuna Conference Centre.

  • Thursday 6th March 2014: iPad MasterClass supporting older students who struggle with literacy.

And of course planning is in full swing for our next Inclusive Learning Technologies Conference in May 2014 on Queensland's sunny Gold Coast in Oz. The Call for Papers is now open! Why not submit a paper yourself? All proposals are seriously considered and valued. And all accepted papers are given one free conference registration!

Cheers
