Teaching AccessAbility
by SoftTouch
Finally, a program to teach students how to access the computer!

Students with disabilities may have the knowledge of the subject but lack computer skills to show what they know. This is a must-have program for students who struggle using the computer – whether it is using a switch, mouse, touch screen or even the IntelliKeys USB keyboard. Linda Bidabe of MOVE International has task analysed and broken down each skill and presented it in a simple, step-by-step format.
Use Teaching AccessAbility to walk students through mastering various access options. Teach students initial access and to challenge students to learn new ways of accessing the computer.
Reinforcers are played based on the age level that is selected in the program. Engaging, age-appropriate graphics and music are used throughout the program.
Once students have successfully learned an access point they can play activities to practise their newly acquired skills. For example:
- Younger students get to play in the deep blue sea
- Younger Students will love to race in the Soap Box Derby
- Older students can go on a surfing adventure. Hang ten!
