Designed specifically for people with dyslexia who require support with reading, the ReadingPen 2 Oxford is an ideal tool to help with reading words that the user can’t spell, pronounce or comprehend. The ReadingPen 2 Oxford promotes independent and inclusive learning as it reduces the need for additional support. In other words students and adults can continue reading and studying without asking for help from colleagues or teachers.
Faster, more accurate and easier to use than previous models, the ReadingPen 2 Oxford is a great portable reading aid for students and adults who struggle with reading. With the Oxford Concise Dictionary this ReadingPen 2 Oxford now provides British definitions, pronunciations and spellings. Improved menus now also make it easier to navigate and set up your pen.
The ReadingPen 2 Oxford has been used successfully in schools, colleges, libraries and resource centres but it is not suitable for people with low vision or impaired fine motor control. Although we recommend that the pen is suitable for students aged 9 or over, because of the dexterity requirements, it has been used successfully at a younger age with support during initial use.
The ReadingPen 2 Oxford is designed for users with reading or learning disabilities or those learning English as a second language. It assists users by providing a definition of the scanned word or line of text. The ReadingPen 2 Oxford’s miniaturised text-to-speech technology enables reading both the words and definition aloud. Individual words are enlarged on the display and may be spelled out, or broken into syllables. The small size of the ReadingPen 2 Oxford makes it completely portable for use wherever and whenever needed.
