The Learner Box Toolkit

The Learner Box is a ready-made, Velcro-accepting family of instructional tools that displays learning materials that users can easily see while performing specific steps of a given task.

Designed to reinforce literacy and math concepts with simple, fun and useful life skills, activities can be inclusive for small groups or tailored to suit individuals.

• Ideal for individuals with limited literacy skills, speech or learning difficulties, cognitive impairment or transitioning learners

• Includes a master activity board (including a Tabletop Easel), a choice board and four learner sequencing boards

• Constructed with durable plastic that is faced with Velcro to accept PCS symbols from the Learning Modules
  
• Laminated activity sheets wipe clean

Learner Box Learning Modules

Each module contains five engaging lessons comprised of one or more activities that cover identified core vocabulary, concepts and skills. Velcro pieces are included on each module, making them ready-to-use with the Learner Box. The ready-made modules promote an inclusive classroom with easy-to-follow, activity-based lesson plans, and provide student activity pages in text and picture support versions using Boardmaker PCS.

• Learner Box Module Cooking I
  
  • Use PCS that are already cut, laminated and ready-to-use right out of the box
    
  • Promotes independence with tasks like cleaning the kitchen and creating easy-to-prepare treats
    
  • Covers core vocabulary, counting, measuring, relevant motor skills, directions and sequencing of tasks
    
  • Included in a binder with hole-punched, laminated sheets
  
  
• Learner Box Module Gardening I (Plants)
  
  • Use PCS that are already cut, laminated and ready-to-use right out of the box
    
  • Promotes independence with tasks focused on plants care and weather preparation techniques
    
  • Covers core vocabulary on scientific topics such as plants, soil, water and growth
    
  • Included in a binder with hole-punched, laminated sheets
