It gives independent control of mobility to individuals who do not have the requisite strength, control or co-ordination to use a standard joystick control. The ClickToGo is operated by single or multiple switches via a scanning interface. The eight direction indicators are illuminated by ultra-bright LEDs and can be scanned in many different ways. When a direction is chosen, pressing a switch drives the chair.
New Features in Revision G of ClickToGo:
- Heading Lock Technology (optional)
A significant technological advancement recommended for a switch user that improves their ability to drive the wheelchair in a straight line over rough or sloping surfaces.
The Heading Lock is similar to a compass. Before you start driving forward it “remembers” which direction you were heading and then as you drive forward it attempts to keep you on that heading as the chair veers to the left or right.
- Standard Programs
Eight standard programs can now be selected within the ClickToGo. These have been designed to suit a wide variety of user needs from 1 switch short click scanning to the five-switch mode with seat function. A standard program is chosen using the program button.
- Three-Switch Mode
Two switches are used to turn the chair left or right. A third switch is used to drive the chair forward or back. One press for forwards, Two presses for backwards. When a seat actuator is fitted, three presses selects seat function mode.
- Max Speed / Drive Profile selection
When the user changes the Speed / Drive Profile the direction LEDs are used to indicate the speed number as well as the 7-segment display. In bright light conditions this aids selection of the correct speed.
Flexible, Versatile and Easy to Program
The ClickToGo caters for a wide variety of user needs and abilities by providing flexible and versatile programming options. These options can be selected from the front panel of the ClickToGo without the need of an external programming device such as a computer. This means that options such as scanning speed, scanning method, seat functions etc can be programmed in the field with out any additional equipment.
Sophisticated Operating Modes
Three different methods of scanning are supported. Single switch automatic scan, single switch short click scan, and two-switch step scan. The scanning pattern can be chosen from a set of pre-programmed patterns or you can create your own.
In single switch mode the direction arrows scan automatically in a clockwise direction and the user presses their switch to go in the direction indicated by the illuminated arrow. A variation on single switch mode is short click mode in which the user has more control. A short click of the switch moves the arrow on to the next one, whilst pressing and holding the switch drives the chair in the direction indicated by the illuminated arrow. Step Scan mode allows the user to fully control the scan with two switches. Switch 2 selects the direction and Switch 1 drives the chair. You can imagine Switch 2 as the steering wheel and Switch 1 as the accelerator.
Total Wheelchair Control
The ClickToGo provides total control over a powered wheelchair system. In any operating mode the switch(es) used to operate the ClickToGo can also be used to select drive speeds, make seat tilt and space adjustments (up to 5 actuators can be controlled), and control an external device such as a communication aid or environmental control. In addition the wheelchair can be turned on and off by the user without the aid of a carer or attendant.
For advanced switch users the ‘Active Steering’ feature allows a user to steer the wheelchair whilst driving forward without having to stop their chair, all from a single switch!
Integrating Communication, Environmental Control and Computer Access
The ClickToGo can be directly connected to up to 4 external devices. This means that the same switch can be used to control different equipment. Selecting which device to operate is under the control of the user and when a device is chosen it is as if their switch is directly connected to that device.
By using a wireless switch you can even control a computer remotely using the ClickToGo. By installing switch access software on a computer, such as Type-Matic with Switches, you can select external device on the ClickToGo and then use the on-screen keyboard to type text, manipulate the mouse pointer and access Windows programs.
Easy Installation
The ClickToGo can be fitted to any powered wheelchair that is equipped with a DX power module. It simply replaces the wheelchairs existing joystick and no other equipment is necessary. A gooseneck bracket has been specially designed so that it can be mounted quickly and easily. Switches are connected using a standard 9 pin D and an adapter cable. The ClickToGo is connected to the power module using a standard DX Cable. If fitted the ClickToGo automatically detects and supports DX secondary remotes such as the Dual Control.
The ClickToGo is a DX master remote and as such must be programmed, once only, with the correct settings for the particular make of power chair you are using. You can program these settings yourself using the DX Wizard program, or alternatively, by emailing technical@click2go.ie with your requirements, you can access a large number of Wizard files which have already been created for different makes of chairs. If you specify the type of chair you are using when purchasing the ClickToGo can be supplied, where possible, with the correct wizard file already loaded. All you will have to do is plug it in and turn it on.
Special Features
The ClickToGo was designed in close co-operation with therapists and users and is packed with features and options which have been designed to overcome some of the problems and difficulties facing switch users. In particular the problems of accidental switch hits and releases has been addressed.
