Classroom Suite MathTutor: Addition, Subtraction and Learning Money is a targeted set of maths instructional activities to help students achieve mastery in addition, subtraction and learning money. This powerful add-on product to Classroom Suite (v4.2) includes:
- 6 short units (approx. 2 weeks each) provide teacher with flexibility of use.
- Nearly 60 pre-made activities, approx. 12 hrs of sequenced instruction.
- Targeted instruction in critical maths skills for grades 2-3.
- Supplements most core maths curriculums.
- Features multiple concept models, including coins, base-ten blocks, number line, hundreds grid and hundreds chart.
- Assignments and unit progress reporting via Classroom Suite (v4.2).
These Classroom Suite activities provide students with explicit instruction, constructive practice and embedded assessments. Teachers can utilise the report data to monitor progress and identify individual needs.
Topics include:
- Addition and Subtraction to 100 (with grid or number line)
Uses the hundreds grid or number line to teach, reinforce, and review addition and subtraction (including skip counting) up to 100 - Base-Ten Blocks – Addition or Subtraction
Uses base-ten blocks to solve addition problems with two and three digits, or up to three-digit subtraction problems, with and without regrouping - Learning Money – Unit 1
Teaches coin identification up to $1.00, as well as counting and representing values of individual and groups of coins up to 50 cents - Learning Money – Unit 2
Teaches counting and representing values of coin equivalencies up to $1.00, as well as skip counting using hundreds chart
