Successfully Using iPads to Create Visual Supports for ALL

Everyone can benefit from the use of visual supports. Visual Supports are things that we see that can enhance the communication process. These include timetables, activity schedules, shopping lists and timers, just to name a few. Visual supports are particularly useful for the children and adults we support as they back up verbal information with more concrete and stable visual information.

Visual Supports can help to decrease surprises and anxiety, assist with transitions and improve behaviour. There are many apps available that can be used to provide simple and effective visual supports for the people we support. This webinar will provide an overview of some of these apps, and outline the types of visual supports available and why you might use them.

Examples in this session are useful for people of any age and include visual support apps suitable for use in the home and community.
