The Apple Volume Purchase Program

Finally! A way of purchasing multiple copies of the one app for discounted prices and distribution across the school! Yes – you heard right. Volume purchasing is here in Australia and available now.

All primary and secondary schools, universities and colleges can participate in the program. All you need to do is to assign a Program Manager who will be responsible for purchasing the apps in volume and distributing the codes. To enroll your program manager click here, then it is as simple as 1, 2, 3!

1. Through the Volume Purchase Program Education Store, your institution’s Program Facilitators can use a credit card to purchase apps in volume.

2. After making a purchase, Program Facilitators receive an email with the unique codes for each copy of the app. Codes can then be quickly and easily distributed to students, teachers, administrators or anyone at the institution who will be using the apps.

3. Once they have their codes, end-users go to the iTunes Store to redeem them. They just enter the code and download the apps to their devices. Your institution has the option of retaining ownership of the app so that when a student moves on, the app can be made available to another student – OR – the end-user can redeem the code in their own account and own the app.

All iOS apps are available through the Volume Purchase program for Education, and discounts of up to 50% off are available for purchases of 20 or more. This is just another step in making the use of iPads and the many wonderful and engaging apps more accessible to your school and students.

  1. Is there a way we can get apple to give us this benefit for our learning and lending library at our non profit for kids who have Down syndrome. We work with schools in most cases after lending the devices to families and teaching them how to use them for AAC and education.
