EchoVoice EV4 and EV5 - Using the transdermal microphone

EchoVoice EV4 transdermal (throat) mike on model

The transdermal microphone in the EchoVoice EV4 and EV5 is designed to be worn around the neck and positioned on your “soft spot”.

Before using the transdermal microphone, it is vital that the little switch in the battery compartment is positioned correctly. The correct position of this switch for using the transdermal microphone is towards the CE mark. (NB if you go back to using the boom microphone you will need to move this switch away from the CE mark).

To position the transdermal microphone correctly for best amplification, use the following guide (please note, the round microphone at the end of the circle needs to be placed above the soft spot). Place your index finger in your ear. Move your index finger towards your throat and when you reach the centre of your neck this is normally around the “soft spot” which produces best amplification. Turn the volume control down to low initially, then increase it gradually.

Each side of the central position of your neck can produce a different signal, so it is recommended that you test both sides of your throat.
