What If I Can Only Press One Key At a Time?
On Windows XP and Mac OS X, an accessibility feature called StickyKeys can be turned on to allow you to press Access Keys in a sequential manner. StickyKeys are useful for people who:
- have to type in key combinations with just one hand/finger
- have co-ordination difficulties, and must press the key one after the other
To activate StickyKeys on Windows XP and Mac OS X, press the SHIFT key five times.
After it is activated, you just need to press the Access Key combination one key at a time. For example, to use the “Contact Us” access key on Internet Explorer 5+ (PC):
- press and release the ALT key, you should hear the PC make a sound
- press the letter C key and release
- now press ENTER to finish the Access Key.
