AbleNet Gold Sponsor Prize

AbleNet has once again generously stepped up to become one of our highly valued Gold Sponsors for the 2012 conference. They did originally offer to fund one person to travel to attend the ATIA (Assistive Technology Industry Association) Conference in the USA in January 2013. A very exciting prize! But… we have had feedback that it would be difficult for a school or organisation to select just ONE person to attend the conference when successful integration of technologies always requires a collaborative team effort. We fully agree!
So we have had a change of plan. The AbleNet team has worked with the Conference Committee to compile a great bundle of technologies for use in the classroom or in your disability support organisation. It would also be a fantastic collection of tools for one lucky child at home!
The AbleNet bundle starts off with a 64GB Wi-Fi New 3rd Generation iPad! It will be pre-loaded with AbleNet’s own SoundingBoard app and bundled with an Apple TV unit and HDMI cable. Just plug your iPad into a large LCD Touchscreen or Interactive Whiteboard projector using the HDMI cable and all apps installed on the iPad will be displayed on the big screen. Great for supporting interactive group activities not possible on the smaller iPad screen.
Even better, you can project wirelessly to an LCD Touchscreen allowing freedom of movement around the classroom or therapy room for both the teacher/therapist and the iPad being shared. All you need to make this happen is to use the Apple TV unit, an HDMI cable and have access to a Wi-Fi connection. Magic … well almost!
To complete the exciting bundle AbleNet has included many of their own popular iPad/iPod/iPhone switch access accessories and latest Easy-Tech technology releases including the following.
- Hook – iPod Switch Access
- Blue2 Bluetooth Switch
- Table Top Suction Mount for iPad
- Roaring Rex Dinosaur Switch-Adapted Toy
- Jelly Bean switches x 4
- Big Step-by-Step with Levels Communicator
- Little Step-by-Step with Levels Communicator
- TalkTrac Wearable Communicator
- QuickTalker12
- Talking Brix Communicator x 3
- SuperTalker Progressive Communicator
- Bookworm
- All-Turn-It-Spinner
- PowerLink 4 Control Unit
What do you have to do to be in the running to win this prize valued at $5,000?
A competition will be run to ensure that the AbleNet iPad and Easy-Tech bundle is given to a truly worthy recipient at the conference. To be sure that your entry is included, simply tell us how you are currently using AbleNet technologies. Which ones are in use and how have they made a positive difference in your life or in the life of your student(s). We would love to receive any success stories you are happy to share with other delegates at the conference too. If you want to submit photos to support your application, they can be emailed directly to conference@spectronicsinoz.com
Tell us also how winning the AbleNet bundle would benefit you; your school; your organisation; the person with disabilities whom you are supporting; or yourself. Submit the completed entry form online or fax/post through to Spectronics before the conference starts. Alternatively, you will be able to complete the form once you are actually at the conference and leave it with the Conference Registration Desk team before 5pm on Thursday 24th May.
All entries will be considered and the finalists will be entered into the final Closing Session prize draw. The lucky winner will then be drawn and presented with their prize at the Closing Ceremony. You must already be registered for the Inclusive Learning Technologies 2012 Conference to submit your entry, and you need to be in attendance at the Conference Closing Session on Friday 25th May to be eligible to collect your prize.
We look forward to receiving your competition entry any time after you register for the conference or while you are actually at the conference itself.
Thank you Paul Thompson and the AbleNet Team!
Cheers from the Inclusive Learning Technologies 2012 Conference Committee
