Here are some aided language displays suitable for use in pretend play activities. Activities include:
- Doctor/Nurses – with 2 pages of vocabulary. Just get a doctors kits and play!
- Aeroplanes – be the pilot or air hostess as you fly around the world!
- Bands – A fun board for band practice – use your microphone and musical instruments to practise for the next Australian Idol!
- Shopping – Pretend to go shopping using this board – you’ll may also need a trolley, food and cash register.
All kids love pretend play and now we can use these displays to model and expand the communication skills of both verbal and nonverbal children. Point to the symbols as you talk with your child and support them to point to symbols to communicate with you!
